FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Backstory, formerly Eight Seven Six, makers of the hit Jamaican plays LAST CALL and MR & MRS BLACKE, is moving into pre-production for their new world-class 2013 theatrical production, written by acclaimed playwright Keiran King and directed by accomplished veteran Eugene Williams.
Auditions are being held this Saturday, March 9, starting at 11am at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts. Industry professionals and newcomers are equally welcome. The producers are casting four roles, two around age 60 and two around age 30. Details can be found at facebook.com/helloBackstory, at backstory.com.jm, or by calling 453-7119 or 393-2057.
Backstory is also expanding their successful internship programme to accommodate about a dozen production interns this year. Interns will be exposed to an international-standard production environment where they will learn about casting, directing, financing, costume design, lighting design, sound design, special effects, stage management and much more. There is no age requirement. The internships are not paid, but interns can graduate to paid positions. Applicants can sign up by sending an email to hello@backstory.com.jm.
