On the Actor Boy Awards

KINGSTON, 13 Mar 2012.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Even though I started Eight Seven Six, the company doesn’t always reflect my personal opinions. As a company, we are happy for the publicity of Actor Boy nominations, and also happy for any team members who enjoy being nominated.

As an artist, my feelings towards the awards are different. (more…)

Keisha Patterson

Keisha has played Madame Giry in Phantom of the Opera, Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Rafiki in The Lion King. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress as Timoune in Once on This Island.

Keisha sang background vocals for Irish superstar Sinead O’Connor’s album Throw Down Your Arms and toured Europe, Canada and the USA, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Keisha has toured with reggae legend Freddie McGregor in the USA, Europe, Japan and the Caribbean.  She has also recorded background vocals for dancehall artists Shabba Ranks, Lady Saw and Elephant Man.

Her solo album Sunday Kind of Love is a jazz-reggae fusion. She is currently working on her second album.

Paul Issa

Paul Issa studied drama at Tulane University in New Orleans and at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York. As a young man he taught drama and speech, worked in radio broadcasting, journalism and publishing, as well as reviewing, directing and acting in theatrical productions.

He is currently Chairman of Jamaica’s Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts and a member of the University Players. Best known to Jamaican audiences for his recurring role in the long-running TV soap opera The Blackburns of Royal Palm Estate, he has recently appeared on stage in Art, Love Letters, and Tartuffe, which he also directed.

He is married to Spanish painter Oriente Davila Issa, and they live in Kingston with their five children.

Donnett Smith

Marketer. Foodie. That pretty much sums it up. Donnett is a foodie at heart with a special love for anything sweet and anything with bacon. Professionally, Donnett works in the marketing field and is particularly fascinated by project management, marketing research, promotions and digital marketing.

She studied Management Studies, Marketing at the University of the West Indies where she became a member of UWI Panoridim Steel Orchestra. Her theatre experience comes from participation in several shows with the band, both as player and, on occasions, a member of the production team with responsibility for marketing.

She is excited to be in charge of promoting Mr & Mrs Blacke.
